Nyerere Tryman is a native of Jackson, MS. He attended Mississippi State University where he received an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Nyerere worked at The University of Georgia, Georgia Gwinnett College, and The University of Alabama before finding his new home here at Auburn. He has been involved in the SouthEastern Association of Housing Officers(SEAHO) executive board as President(2020-2021) and Director of State Representatives(2012-2014). He is also currently serving as the Regional Affiliations Director for the Association of College and University Officers International(ACUHO-I). Nyerere loves this work because he enjoys working with students and creating a positive impact. Nyerere married the love of his life Martina in 2006 and they have two kids, Nyerere Tryman Jr. and Jelani Tryman. In his spare time, Nyerere enjoys spending quality time with his family, reading, traveling, and playing his PlayStation 5. On Saturdays in the fall, you can find him watching football and enjoying the weather.
