ShiKia Carter was born and raised in Westfield, NJ. She is an alumna of Rowan University, where she earned a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in Creative Dramatic. ShiKia furthered her education by obtaining two master’s degrees: one in Special Education and another in Teaching and Learning with Technology. Throughout her career, she has taught students ranging from 5th grade to post-secondary levels. Her goal is to be the change she wants to see in the world. Currently, ShiKia is pursuing a Ph.D. in Special Education and recently earned a minor in Educational Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her sorority sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serving the community.
